Growth classes in the adult roman snail (Helix pomatia L.)

Summary

a method of dividing adult Helix pomatia into growth classes, which are probably also age classes, is described. Differences in behaviour of individuals previously thought to be associated with their status in a population are probably differences between individuals of different age.
