Summary

The reaction of the lower cervical vertebrae on slight movements of the head is described. The possible mechanism of these phenomena is suggested and the role of this additional component in the normal dynamics of the cervical spine is discussed.

Résumé

L'auteur décrit la réaction des vertèbres cervicales inférieures lors de faibles mouvements de la tête. II évoque le mécanisme possible de ce phénomène et discute le role de ce facteur supplémentaire dans la dynamique normale du rachis cervical.

Zusammenfassung

Es wurde beobachtet, daß leichte Bewegungen des Kopfes in den atlanto-okzipitalen Gelenken konstante und ausgiebige Kippungen der unteren Halswirbel zur Folge haben. Der mögliche Mechanismus dieser Erscheinung wird erwägt, und die Rolle dieser neuen zusätzlichen Bewegungskomponente in der normalen Dynamik der Halswirbelsäule wird diskutiert.
