Zusammenfassung
Das juxtaorale Organ der Ratte stellt eine besondere funktionelle Einheit von Epithel, Bindegewebe und Nerven dar.
Sein epithelialer Kern zeigt in seinen Feinstrukturen große Ähnlichkeit mit dem Mundhöhlenepithel.
Das Bindegewebe bildet eine innere und eine äußere Hüllschicht; dazwischen liegen weite Spalträume. Die äußere Bindegewebsschicht gleicht in ihrem Aufbau dem Perineurium kleiner Nervenstämme. An das juxtaorale Organ ziehen zahlreiche Nerven heran, die in allen Schichten verlaufen und enden. Besonders ausführlich wird die Endigung dicker, markhaltiger Fasern im Stratum fibrosum proprium dargestellt: das Ende des markhaltigen Abschnittes, die präterminale, von dünnen Cytoplasmahüllen Schwannscher Zellen umgebene Verlaufsstrecke und die Endigung in Form umfangreicher, zahlreiche große Mitochondrien enthaltender „Mitochondriensäcke“.
An den Schwannschen Zellen dieses Abschnittes werden Mehrfachbildungen von Basalmembranen beschrieben und als Zeichen besonderer Dynamik gedeutet.
Im Stratum fibrosum proprium kommen neben Bündeln kollagener Fasern regelmäßig Einlagerungen mit sehr feiner fibrillärer Grundstruktur vor, die auf Grund der Literatur als Protokollagen gedeutet wurden.
Verschiedene Strukturdetails deuten darauf hin, daß das juxtaorale Organ mit zahlreichen rezeptorischen Einrichtungen versehen ist; über seine spezifische Funktion ist im Augenblick noch keine Aussage möglich.
