Abstract

An account of air pollution control measures in the province of Ontario and their effectiveness is given. An experiment, currently in progress, to investigate the nature of thin layer brown haze which occasionally occurs over Toronto in the summer months in inversion and low wind conditions, is described. Preliminary results of the Aitken nuclei concentrations, droplet concentrations and size distributions, and NO2 concentrations found over Toronto in early morning and early afternoon flights on a day in August 1973 are given.
