Zusammenfassung
Die normalen subcutanen Mastzellen verschieden alter Ratten wurden nach doppelter Fixierung mit Akrolein und Osmiumsäure (Luft 1959) elektronen-mikroskopisch untersucht. Folgende Ergebnisse wurden ermittelt:

Die Mastzellengranula treten als dichte Ansammlung feiner massendichter Körnchen (Bleikontrastierung) in Erscheinung. Ihre Struktur weicht von dem reticulär-vacuolären Bild ab, das bei einfacher Osmium-Fixierung bekannt ist.

Die spezifischen Granula entstehen in den Bläschen des Golgiapparates und wachsen stets innerhalb einer glatten Membranhülle heran.

Die Ausstoßung der reifen Granula in den extrazellulären Raum erfolgt entweder durch Ruptur der perigranulär herangewachsenen Vakuolen am Zellrand oder durch Auflösung des Plasmalemms, die den Austritt der Granula samt ihren Hüllen ermöglicht.

Die Mastzellengranula der juvenilen Ratten sind nach Form und Größe mannigfaltig; eine lebhafte Neubildung und Ausscheidung der Granula ist nachzuweisen. Bei älteren Tieren bietet sich ein gleichmäßigeres und ruhigeres Bild. Die Mikrovilli der Zellen sind bei älteren Tieren besser entwickelt.

Ein Centriol wurde in den Mastzellen aller untersuchter Altersgruppen regelmäßig gefunden.
