Conclusioni
Da quanto sopra esposto possiamo trarre le seguenti conclusioni:

Nelle larvette (Brachydanio rerio) di 4–5 giorni di sviluppo sono già presenti nell'assone e nel corpo cellulare neurofilamenti con struttura periodica di due categorie di spessore: di 90–120 Å e di 180–230 Å. Questi neurofilamenti sono particolarmente numerosi nell'assone e nelle terminazioni sinaptiche. Non siamo in grado di affermare se essi siano costituiti dalla stessa sostanza neurofibrillare che già a questo stadio è evidenziabile con i metodi argentici (met. di Bodian).

Tutto il corpo cellulare è ricoperto da clave e bottoni sinaptici, senza una soluzione di continuità.

L'axon cap è costituito da uno strettissimo intreccio di sottili fibre (neuropilo) circondato da sistemi di fibre avvolgenti. Nell'interno di questo intreccio sono numerosissime le sinapsi e numerose sono anche le sinapsi tra queste fibre e il perikarion mauthneriano adiacente all'emergenza dell'assone; meno numerose sono quelle in rapporto alla parte emergente dell'assone stesso che mantiene ancora un valore postsinaptico.
Sono stati descritti quattro tipi di articolazioni sinaptiche: 1) bottom afferenti alla cellula di Mauthner; 2) bottoni a doppia sinapsi: riceventi dal neuropilo e trasmittenti alla cellula di Mauthner; 3) bottoni a doppia sinapsi: trasmittenti alla cellula e trasmittenti al neuropilo; 4) bottoni a doppia sinapsi: riceventi dal neuropilo e trasmittenti al neuropilo.
