Summary
The bone changes observed in 7 cases at the site of origin of meningiomas of the anterior chiasmatic angle are described. These consist of intracranial hyperplasia of the sphenoids and/or the posterior ethmoid sinus cells (pneumosinus dilatans) with additional hyperostosis. The upward deformity of the usually straight sphenoethmoidal line seems easier to recognize than hyperostosis on a lateral plain skull film. Special attention is drawn to the problem of early diagnosis.
Résumé
Les auteurs décrivent les altérations osseuses au niveau de l'insertion des méningiomes de l'angle antérieur du chiasma. Il s'agit d'hyperplasie intracrânienne ne du sphénoide et/ou des cellules ethmoïdales postérieures (pneumosinus dilatans) et d'hyperostose surajoutée. Les auteurs en ont observé sept cas en quatre ans. La déformations vers le haut de la ligne sphénoethmoïdale habituellement droite semble plus aisée à reconnaître que l'hyperostose sur une radiographie conventionnelle du crâne de profil. L'attention est attirée tout particulièrement sur le problème du diagnostic précoce.
Zusammenfassung
In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden die knöchernen Veränderungen beschrieben, die bei Meningeomen des vorderen Chiasma-Winkels röntgenologisch darstellbar sind. Es handelt sich dabei um eine Hyperplasie der Keilbeinhöhle und/oder der hinteren Ethmoidalzellen (Pneumosinus dilatans) mit zusätzlicher Hyperostose. Die aufwärts gerichtete Verlagerung der Spheno-ethmoidal-Linie ist dabei leichter zu erkennen als eine Hyperostose. Bericht von 7 Fällen, die in 4 Jahren beobachtet wurden.
