Summary

Frontal pneumotomograms of the posterior cranial fossa may not always be easy to interpret. This is due to great variations in the distribution of gas around the inferior vermis which represent radioanatomical variants of the normal cerebellar anatomy. Their importance and the criteria used in their evaluation are discussed.

Résumé

Les pneumotomogrammes frontaux de la fosse postérieure ne sont pas toujours faciles à interprèter. Ceci est dû à la grande variation de la distribution du gaz autour du vermis inférieur. Il en résulte un grand nombre de variantes radio-anatomiques. Leur importance, et les critères utilisés dans leur évaluation sont discutés.

Zusammenfassung

Bei der Anwendung der cerebralen Pneumotomographie können frontale Luftbilder in der hinteren Schädelgrube auftreten, die im Anfang nicht immer auf Anhieb diagnostisch einzuordnen sind. Diese Tomographiebilder werden durch verschiedene Luftverteilung verursacht. Es entstehen auf diese Weise radioanatomische Varianten bei normalen anatomischen Verhältnissen. Auf die Wertigkeit dieser Bilder und die Kriterien ihrer Beurteilung wird hingewiesen.
