Zusammenfassung
Die Hirnrindenkapillaren im Parietalcortex des Kaninchens, die elektronen-mikroskopisch untersucht werden, besitzen folgende Kennzeichen: 1. Das Endothel ist ungewöhnlich dicht; diese Tatsache wird auf die Anhäufung von intra-zellulären Filamenten und Ribosomen zurückgeführt. 2. Die Basalmembran ist relativ dick und stellenweise doppelt. 3. Es fehlt ein perivaskulärer Bindegewebsraum. 4. Die Kapillaroberfläche ist im Widerspruch zu früheren Mitteilungen vollständig von Astrozytenfortsätzen umhüllt, wobei jedoch ein Teil der Zellausläufer extrem abgeflacht ist.
Diese Feststellungen besagen, daß zwischen Kapillare und den Zellen der Hirnrinde stets Astrozyten geschaltet sind, durch die zumindest ein großer Teil des Stofftransportes erfolgen muß. Diese besondere Organisation wird u.a. bezüglich der Beziehungen zur Stoffaufnahme in das ZNS diskutiert.
