Studies on the ecology of Ascaris lumbricoides

Zeitschrift für Parasitenkunde Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

The results obtained from the experimental invasion of lambs and kids with a culture of infective Ascaris lumbricoides eggs show that this ascaris may parasitize in these animals.

A. lumbricoides develop very slowly in lambs and kids and by the 65th day after the invasion does not reach sexual maturity.

The lamb and the kid should be regarded as facultative hosts of this ascaris.
