Summary
The bath-free Dornier HM-4 lithotriptor has been used in Grosshadern Klinik since August 1986. The HM-3 Dornier lithotriptor (which has a water bath) has been replaced by the newer model where the bath water has been reduced to a flexible water cushion. A comparative clinical study of the treatment results obtained with the HM-3 and the HM-4 reveals that the acknowledged clinical standard achieved in the past with the HM-3 can also be assured with the HM-4, with the additional advantages of facilitation of treatment and reduction of space and cost requirements.
