Summary
Of 39 children with urinary incontinence managed by implantation of artificial urinary sphincter, 37 are continent at follow-up of 3 months to 5 1/2 years. The artificial urinary sphincter is a major contribution toward producing urinary continence while preserving the upper urinary tract and permitting normal voiding patterns.
