Summary

The frequency of ultraviolet light (UV) induced erythromycin resistant (ery r) mitochondrial mutations is not affected in the rad6-1 and rev3-1 mutants of Saccharomyces cerevisiae defective in UV-induced mutagenesis of nuclear genes, but is lowered in the cdc8-1 mutants, which are defective in chain elongation of nuclear and mitochondrial DNA at the restrictive temperature.
