Hyalocyten in der Gewebekultur

Hyalocytes in tissue culture

Summary

“Hyalocytes” from the vitreous body and retina of chick and rabbit embryos as well as of calves have been cultured. They develop in vitro from immature to mature forms on primary cell layers of the retina. These elements belong to the macrophage group.

Permanent culture seems to be only successful in connection with the primary cell layer since cell division is no longer observed in mature ldhyalocytes”.
