Abstract

Two independent mutations in Oenothera hookeri with the phenotype narrow-leaf are both correlated with a reciprocal translocation between two nonhomologous chromosomes with one break in the heterochromatic and the other in the euchromatic part of the chromosomes. This leads to the interpretation of the mutations as position effect.
