Meningitis associated with herpes zoster

Immunofluorescent demonstration of varicella-zoster antigens in CSF cells

Zusammenfassung

Meningitis begleitet von Herpes zoster ist nicht selten, aber es gibt nur wenige virologische Untersuchungen der Cerebrospinalflüssigkeit bei diesen Meningitiden.

Durch die Immunofluorescenzmethode (direkte Methode) wiesen wir Varicella-Zoster-Antigene in den Liquorzellen und der Hautblase eines Falles von Herpes zoster-Meningitis nach. Bei dem 54jährigen Patienten fand sich ein Herpes zoster im Bereich des linken N. trigeminus, und er klagte über starke Kopfschmerzen. Der Liquorbefund zeigte eine mononucleäre Pleocytose mit 54 Zellen/mm3.

Die Pathogenese der Begleit-Meningitiden von Herpes zoster-Infektionen wurde diskutiert.
