Zusammenfassung
Bei 8 Patienten mit einer diabetischen Neuropathie und 8 Kontrollfällen wurde die Anzahl der Kerne pro Muskelfaser in Querschnitten von Muskelbiopsien untersucht. Aufgrund elektronenmikroskopischer Studie konnte man feststellen, daß die nachweisbare Zunahme der Kernzahl bei den Patienten mit Diabetes auf eine Zunahme der Muskelkerne zurückzuführen war. Die Bedeutung dieser Feststellung wird diskutiert, im besonderen mit Bezug auf die Aktivität der Satellitenzellen.
