Operation-correlated heart-rate responses

Psychological Research Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

Heart-rate responses were averaged before and after repeated operations on a keyboard related to clerical work. Decelerations were found in periods interpreted as being dominated by an internal focus of attention (e.g., decision-making, processing of internally stored information); acceleration could be attributed to an external focus of attention (as during search for new information).
