Structural investigations of polycrystalline diaspore samples by X-ray powder diffraction

Abstract

Diaspore (α-AlOOH) samples of different origin have been investigated by means of X-ray powder diffraction. Film and diffractometer data, evaluated by common least squares and least squares profile-fitting refinement methods, respectively resulted in the same values of structural parameters. The structural invariability of natural diaspores can be concluded from the results.
