Ultrastructure of primary lymphosarcoma of testis

Feinstruktur des primären Lymphosarcomas im Testis

Summary

A case of primary lymphosarcoma of testis was studied by light and electron microscopy. The fine structure of the lymphosarcoma cells was simple and monotonous. The cytoplasm was scanty and contained normal-looking organelles. Free ribosomes were abundant and the Golgi apparatus was well developed. The nuclei were large and irregular in shape with prominent nucleoli. “Nuclear pockets” enclosing material similar to the cytoplasmic ground substance were found infrequently. Remnants of disintegrating cells were also encountered.

Zusammenfassung

Ein Fall eines primären Lymphosarkoms im Testis wurde licht- und elektronenmikroskopisch untersucht. Die Feinstruktur der Tumorzellen ist monoton. Das spärliche Cytoplasma enthält normale Zellorganellen. Freie Ribosomen sind zahlreich und der Golgi-Apparat ist gut entwickelt. Die Kerne sind groß und unregelmäßig, die Nukleolen prominent. Einige Kerne enthalten “nuclear pockets” mit Material, das der cytoplasmatischen Grundsubstanz ähnlich ist. Reste degenerierender Zelle werden ebenfalls gefunden.
