Summary
Filament-forming bacilli were isolated from bulking sludge. They were physiologically very similar. However, they developed into rhizoid or non-rhizoid colonies. According to their morphological, physiological, and genetical properties the isolates were identified as Bacillus mycoides and Bacillus cereus.
