Summary

The parameters necessary for computation of the airflow resistance of the nose and the different procedures for their measurement are systematically presented and discussed. The author proposes the separate registration of the (volume) flowrate and the difference pressure taken anteriorly during physiological active respiration as a standard procedure for clinical use. From the nomograms presented in Figs. 4 to 6 the airflow resistance of either side and the total resistance of the nose can easily read without further means for computation (i.e. analogous computers).

Zusammenfassung

Es werden die verschiedenen Mcßgrößen and Mcßmethoden zur Bestimmung der Nasendurchgangigkeit für die Atemströmung systematisch dargestellt und diskutiert. Der Verfasser schlägt als klinische Standardmethode die getrennte Registrierung von Volumenströmung und anterior abgenommenem Differenzdruck bei physiologischer, aktiver Atmung vor. Mit den angogebenen Nomogrammen (Abb. 4–6) läßt sich der Strömungswiderstand jeder Nasenseite einzeln and der Gesamtwiderstand der Nase ohne weitere Rechenhilfsmittel (z. B. Analogrechner) bequem ermitteln.
