Summary
Based on rhinosurgical experience we present a new modification for the closure of septal perforations by means of chondromucosal transposition flaps. The concept is to insert these compound flaps bilaterally into the perforation, either in the anterior or the posterior area of the septum. This technique enables us to restore the integrity of the cartilaginous frame of the nose and simultaneously correct lower nasal deformities.
