Summary
A family is described with two children, a boy and a girl, having a trisomy of the short arm of chromosome No. 10. The mother and the grandmother are carriers of the reciprocal translocation 46,XX,t(7;10) (p22; p11). Both children received through meiotic segregation the same translocation chromosome No. 7 which carries almost the total short arm of No. 10. The 10p—trisomic children show a clinical picture characterized by severe mental and psychomotoric retardation, dysmorphic skull, peculiarly shaped face, and multiple malformations of the extremities.
