Chromsomal analysis of two consecutive abortuses in each of 43 women

Summary

The karyotypes of two consecutive abortuses were established in 43 women. There is a correlation between the normal or abnormal character of the two specimens, but when the karyotypes of both specimens are abnormal there is no correlation between the two karyotypes. The obstetric history of these women shows that they belong to a high-risk group but that the prognosis for subsequent pregnancies seems good.

Zusammenfassung

Bei 43 Frauen mit zwei aufeinanderfolgenden Aborten wurden Karyogramme angefertigt. Es wurde festgestellt, daß normale bzw. abnorme Befunde des Abortmaterials korreliert sind. Wenn jedoch beide Befunde abnorm waren, standen sie in keiner Beziehung zueinander. Die gynäkologische Anamnese dieser Frauen zeigt, daß sie zu einer Gruppe mit hohem Risiko für Spontanaborten gehören, aber die Prognose für weitere Schwangerschaften scheint gut zu sein.
