Summary
The effect of phage T4 gene 43 (DNA polymerase) mutations on recombination between adjacent base pairs was measured in rII amber and opal mutants.
The mutator allele tsL56 did not promote recombination frequencies at the two sites in which its effect was studied. The antimutator allele tsCB87 caused slight or no reduction in recombination frequencies at five sites.
