Summary

A simple method using bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU), for both cell synchronization and incorporation into replicating DNA is described. Many prophasic and prometaphasic mitoses were observed, and due to the probable blocking at different times of the cell cycle, very good R-banding and G-banding were obtained simultaneously on the same preparation.
