Induction of RNA polymerase synthesis in Escherichia coli

Summary

Studies on the rate of synthesis of the β and β′ subunits of RNA polymerase in haploid strains of Escherichia coli K12 containing poorly-suppressed rif oam mutations provide conclusive evidence that synthesis of at least these two subunits is regulated.
