A new species of Raphignathus (Acarina) associated with Phlebotomus in India

Summary

A new species of mite — Raphignathus smithi n. sp. parasitic on Phlebotomus is described. It is found on P. papatasii during the months when outbreaks of short fevers of unknown aetiology and sand fly fever occur.
