NMR study on phase transitions in lyotropic liquid crystals caused by hydrophobic additives

  • Published:
Polymer Bulletin Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

Broad line NMR spectra have been measured at room temperature of the binary system Arkopal (C9H19C6H4O(CH2CH2O)15H) -heavy water (40 % to 60 % by weight) and of the ternary systems Arkopal — heavy water — paraffin at different paraffin concentrations at constant Arkopal — heavy water ratio. It has been established how the additives change the lyotropic phases.
