Summary

1. In white rats K-strophanthine increases the renal excretion of potassium. The excretion of sodium is increased only with high doses (50 bis 200 μg/100 g); with lower doses (12,5 μg/100 g) it may be diminished.

2. K-strophanthidine has less influence on the excretion of potassium. — G-strophanthine (Oubain) and Scillaren have only about half the activity of k-strophanthine, whereas Convallatoxin is about equipotent.
