Zusammenfassung
Substanz P-haltige Extrakte aus Pferdedarm und Rinderhirn wurden an Aluminiumoxyd-Säulen fraktioniert, und die Fraktionen papierchromatographisch und papierelektrophoretisch untersucht.
Der Darmextrakt enthielt zehn und der Hirnextrakt drei verschiedene darmkontrahierende Komponenten, deren biologische Aktivität durch Proteasen zerstört wurde; die wirksamen Prinzipien sind deshalb sehr wahrscheinlich Polypeptide. Bei beiden Extrakten beruhte der größte Teil der darmkontrahierenden Wirksamkeit auf Substanz P, die übrigen Faktoren waren in viel geringeren Mengen vorhanden. Substanz P war die einzige aktive Komponente, die in beiden Extrakten vorkam.
