Summary
γ-Amino-n-butyrylcholin has been isolated from pigs-brain and cristallized in the form of Goldtetrachloride. Evidence for the chemical structure is given by means of comparison of the infraredspectrum with that of synthetic γ-Aminobutyrylcholine. The isolated and the synthetic compound as well as their hydrolytic products have identical Rf-values in two solvent-systems. The possible physiological significance of γ-aminobutyrylcholine in brain function is discussed.
