Summary

The vegetation around Ghulam Mohammad Barrage especially of Gundi and Railo Bada Reserve Forests was studied. Five vegetation types were observed in the area: Tamarix and Saccharum-association, Acacia arabica-association, Salvadora persica-association, Pond-association and Salvadora and Prosopis-association. The pioneer association of Tamarix and Saccharum is replaced by Acacia arabica-association. However in highly saline areas Salvadora persica-association apperas instead of it. Ultimately these are replaced by climax association of Salvadora and Prosopis.

Zusammenfassung

Die Vegetation in der Umgebung der Ghulam Mohammad Barrage besonders im Schutzwald der Gundi und Railo Reserve wurde studiert. Fünf Vegetationstypen sind vorhanden: Tamarix und Saccharum-Assoziation, Acacia arabica-Assoziation, Salvadora persica-Assoziation, Teich-Assoziation und Salvadora und Prosopis-Assoziation. Die Pionierassoziation von Tamarix und Saccharum wird im Verlauf der Entwicklung durch die Acacia arabica-Assoziation ersetzt. An den stark versalzten Stellen stellt sich die Salvadora persica-Assoziation ein. Den Beschluss der Entwicklung bildet die Klimaxassoziation von Salvadora und Prosopis.
