Abstract

A serological test for the detection of circulating IgG antibodies against the mycobacterial antigen A60 was used to analyse the avidity of antibodies raised in the serum of tuberculous patients. The avidity of the detected antibodies appeared variable and was quite low in some of them. The effect that this phenomenon has on the determination of antibodies with this test are discussed.
