Summary
Pregerminated Trichoderma reesei (Rut C-30) spores were grown on corncob particles in a liquid fluidized bed reactor (LFBR). Hyphal mass covered particles were recovered from the top of the reactor in 24 h and used as starters for solid substrate fermentation. The starter from LFBR gave better biomass production than spore or mycelial inoculum.
