Summary
Membrane-surface liquid culture (MSLC) developed by the authors (Yasuhara et al., 1994) was applied to the production of kojic acid, using Aspergillus oryzae var.oryzae IFO 30113. By the fed-batch MSLC with intermittent glucose addition, the amount of kojic acid increased to over 50 times that obtained by means of the culture in shake flasks.
