Étude géologique préliminaire des dépôts potassifères d'Iran

Résumé

Justifiée par l'existence d'indices déjà connus ainsi que par la présence dans l'échelle stratigraphique de séries salifères, récurrentes de l'Infracambrien au Quaternaire inclus, une étude des possibilités de recherche de gisements de potasse en Iran (restreinte à l'Iran Central et à l'Azerbeidjan) a permis de repérer à l'affleurement plusieurs nouveaux indices, principalement dans des séries d'âge Tertiaire. Ces indices sont décrits ainsi que leur position dans les formations intéressées; de cette étude géologique, on tente, en conclusion, de dégager les lignes directrices d'une entreprise systématique de prospection de la potasse en Iran.

Abstract

Justified by the existence of previously known indications and by the presence of saliferous series, recurring from Infracambrian to Quaternary, in the stratigraphical sequence, a study of the possibilities of exploration for potash deposits in Iran (restricted to Central Iran and Azerbeidjan), resulted in the localisation of several outcropping showings, mainly inside Tertiary series. These indications are described, together with their position in the formations concerned. Through this geological study, an attempt is made to define, in conclusion, the guide lines for a systematical potash exploration venture in Iran.
