Note on estimating critical stress for irregularly-shaped-planar cracks

Abstract

An estimate of the lower bounds for crack tip stress intensity factors for irregularly-shaped-planar cracks is obtained. A combination of the elliptical and Sneddon solution is used.

Une estimation des limites inférieures du facteur d' intensité de contrainte á la pointe d' une fissure est obtenue pour des fissures planes de forme irrégulière. On emploie une combinaison de la solution elliptique et de celle de Sneddon.

Zusammenfassung

Eine Abschätzung der unteren Grenze für den Rissspitzen-Spannungsintensitätsfaktor für unregelmässig geformte, zweidimensionale Risse wind erhalten. Eine Kombination der elliptischen und der Sneddon-Lösung wind verwendet.
