Abstract

In my paper “Developing Perspective upon the Areal Extent of Israel: An Outline Evaluation” (Rowley 1989b) I sought to pose a specific question — What may be considered as the maximum areal extent of Eretz Yisrael, the Land of Israel? This present academic presentation will seek to counteract the vitriolic outbursts on the sotermed “Coin Map” from certain quarters. The question as to whether the present Israeli 10 agorot coin carries a map-representation of Eretz Yisrael will be addressed. A number of the other issues raised by Berkowicz (1991) will also be briefly considered. Further thoughts upon the areal extents of Eretz Yisrael will also be presented and specific questions are posed.
