Abstract
Responses of two lake-watersheds to changes in atmospheric deposition were simulated using the Integrated Lake-Watershed Acidification Study (ILWAS) Model. The simulated annual chemical outlet fluxes were continuous functions of both S and N deposition. No acidification threshold was observed. The slopes of the response curves quantified the contrasting sensitivities of the two systems to changes in deposition.
