Initial comparisons between experiment and theory of the strain fields in a cracked copper plate

Abstract

Comparison is made between experimental and theoretical analyses of strain in a cracked copper plate. Correlation between the two is satisfactory at flow and high loading, but shows inaccuracies at intermediate loads. The cause appears to be uncertainty in the stress-strain curve in the region of initial yield
