Abstract

The evolution of the pilgrimage pattern to Mecca and the contemporary pilgrim flows from various parts of the world are analyzed. A regression model is employed to explain the present spatial pattern of pilgrimage to Mecca. An attempt is made to regionalize the Moslem world on the basis of pilgrim flows and surveys of religious attitudes.
