Conservative management of parotid haemangiomas

Abstract

We report 13 cases of parotid haemangioma (PH) in infancy treated conservatively. The outcome in each case was complete resolution within the first 6 years of life. With reported recurrence rates following surgical treatment of 25% and injury to the facial nerve in as many as 23%, we recommend that non-operative treatment be adopted in all cases of isolated PH
