Breakage of Knowles pins used for femoral neck fractures

Summary

We report the breakage of multiple Knowles pins in two patients with fractures of the femoral neck. The break occurred at the junction of the threaded and smooth sections of the pins before consolidation of the fracture.

Présentation de deux cas de rupture de clous de Knowles multiples chez des patients traités pour fracture du col du fémur. Les clous se sont cassés avant la consolidation, à l'union de la partie lisse et du filetage.
