Tuberculosis of the ischiopublic ramus

A report of five cases

Summary

Five cases of tuberculosis of the ischiopublic ramus are reported. All presented with abscesses. Treatment by simple curettage and INH, rifampicin and ethambutol given for 18 to 24 months gave satisfactory results in the 4 patients who were children. The one adult had severe disruption of the symphysis pubis, and sacroiliac involvement; a good result was obtained after bone grafting and fixation with a plate.

Présentation de cinq cas de tuberculose de la branche ischiopubienne, tous étaient porteurs d'un abcès. Le traitement par simple curetage associé à INH, rifampicine et ethambutol pendant 18 à 24 mois a donné des résultats satisfaisants chez les quatre malades qui étaient des enfants. Le seul adulte de la série avait une grave disjonction symphysaire et une atteinte de la sacroiliaque. Un bon résultat fut obtenu après fixation par plaque et greffe osseuse.
