Osteosarcoma following a fractured shaft of femur

Summary

A boy, aged 14 years, sustained a fracture of the midshaft of the femur. This was treated conservatively and healed in 13 weeks. One year later an osteosarcoma developed at the site of the healed fracture.

Un garçon de 14 ans a présenté une fracture du tiers moyen du fémur. Celle-ci a été traitée orthopédiquement et a consolidé en 13 semaines. Un an plus tard un ostéosarcome est apparu au niveau de l'ancien foyer de fracture.
