Abstract

The data published by Pierce and LoPresto (1984) are corrected for straylight. This correction increases the observed equatorial rotation velocity from 1977 to 2004 m s −1. The correction has an uncertainty of approximately 10 m s−1 because the accurate form of the straylight function is not available.
