Abstract
Intraluminal calcification in the neonate is a rare cause of intra-abdominal calcification and, when seen on plain radiography, is often erroneously interpreted as meconium peritonitis. This report describes a case of intraluminal calcification and highlights those features which differentiate it radiologically from the extraluminal calcification seen in meconium peritonitis. The importance of establishing the correct pre-operative diagnosis in planning the subsequent management of such cases is discussed.
