Abstract
We developed a laparoscopic technique for gastrostomy in an animal model. Direct visualization of the stomach by laparoscopy is an advantage in preventing damage to other viscera and permits placement of the gastrostomy in the desired anatomic location in the stomach. This technique can be performed with or without gastrointestinal endoscopy. Laparoscopic-guided gastrostomy was successfully performed in a 7-year-old patient.
